Making Communities Safer for Children

Violence and armed conflict threaten the welfare and security of many children in Colombia. Just going about their everyday lives, children may face violence in many forms, including abuse, landmine injury, kidnap and forced recruitment into armed groups.

The effects of this violence leave emotional and physical scars that are difficult to erase. From challenging commercial sexual exploitation to helping children protect themselves from landmines, Children of the Andes is striving to make communities safer places for children to grow up.
