Amongst the beauty of many South American countries, people are fighting inequality, poverty and violence, but none so much as Colombia, which suffers from the effects of a brutal ongoing armed conflict. Colombia's internal conflict is now so long standing that it rarely makes UK news, despite many thousands of violent killings and hundreds of land mine explosions every year.

We at COTA are very passionate about our work, but as a small team our work relies heavily on the solidarity of our supporters and volunteers, who take the time to spread the word about what we do and help us raise the vital funds that allow us to continue investing in better futures for thousands of children at risk.

Children of the Andes believes that the skills, knowledge and will to build a better future for vulnerable children are widespread in Colombia, but the communities where COTA works urgently need support to ensure their children don't perpetuate the negative cycle that has hindered their social development so far.
